Polygon (MATIC) Join Disney Accelerator Class !

The Walt Disney Company announced on Wednesday that the Disney Accelerator program has chosen MATIC to join this year's class initiative, which will focus on a variety of technologies.

"This year's Disney Accelerator class is focused on creating the future of immersive experiences, with a focus on technologies such as “non-fungible tokens" (NFTs).

​Following Disney's announcement, the blockchain project Polygon tweeted on Wednesday that it had been accepted into the 2022 Disney Accelerator program.

"We are thrilled to announce that Polygon has been selected to participate in the Disney Accelerator program," Polygon wrote in response to Disney's blog post. "It begins this week, connecting the 2022 class with Disney's creativity, imagination, and expertise," Polygon added.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) approved Disney's "virtual-world simulator" patent in January, signaling the company's intention to enter the metaverse industry.

Bonnie Rosen, the general manager of the Disney Accelerator program, stated in a statement issued on Wednesday that "for nearly a century, Disney has been at the forefront of leveraging technology to build the entertainment experiences of the future."

​ MATIC stated in a Twitter thread published on Wednesday that the company planned to share more Disney Accelerator updates, and that the team's imaginations were "already on fire."
