Mitch Liu background has always been at the intersection of the latest media and emerging technologies like blockchain, starting with my undergrad in engineering at MIT where he did his thesis in interactive storytelling at the MIT Media Lab. After graduate school at Stanford, he founded several companies that were early in mobile advertising and mobile gaming — TapJoy in 2007 which remains doing well today, and Gameview Studios, a pioneer of mobile resource management games in 2010, which they sold to DeNA gaming company in Japan. Mitch Liu founded Theta Labs in 2016 with there CTO Jieyi Long focused on video streaming technology, specifically in VR and esports. Theta Network was created as how of solving our own problems in delivering 4k, 8k, and VR video efficiently throughout the planet. “ Theta Network works by allowing users on Theta-enabled platforms to relay video streams they are watching to other viewers in their local area.
In return for sharing video with their peers and contributing their bandwidth to the network, they earn TFUEL tokens. TFUEL can be used on sites like THETA.tv to donate to streamers or redeem for items, and is also traded on major crypto exchanges like Binance and Huobi.”
